| Jarrahdale Blue Pumpkins |
Fairly new to the market, these Australian Blue or Jarrahdale pumpkins are a cross between a Blue Hubbard squash and a Cinderella pumpkin. The Jarrahdale pumpkin is a striking Australian heirloom winter squash known for its distinctive slate-blue, deeply ribbed skin and sweet, golden-orange flesh.
Wouldn't these be beautiful outside with blue and white Chinese garden stools and blue and white Chinese planters? They could be mixed with white pumpkins for us blue and white lovers.
I hope I find these this year - I think they are beautiful. I am told they are also wonderful to eat - very sweet. Use it in soups, stews, pies, and roasted dishes where a rich, sweet flavor shines. Many people say they are even more delicious than butternut squash.
