I love orchids. Publix frequently has them on BOGO and they are such fabulous deals. The perfect finishing touch for an orchid is a blue and white Chinese orchid pot.
This one is hand-painted and very elegant. It retails for $195, but it's a great price here -

I use the 3 ice cube method to water my orchids once a week. It's easy and fast and has worked great for me. Orchid enthusiasts say it is bad long term for orchids, but I retire i.e. pitch mine when they finish blooming anyway.
When my orchids finish blooming, I attach them to a tree in my front yard. Before you know it they bloom again and it looks beautiful. I put them in a ring around an oak tree, but one other friend places hers all around in different trees. You should try it! I bet it would look lovely in your yard.
