HomeGoods Find & Mini CCC & A Printer Steal

Pamela Munson Under the Sea Coral Clutch

I posted three years ago this pretty coral clutch above by Pamela Munson. It is no longer available, but as I recall it retailed for around $365. Yesterday I was in HomeGoods/TJMaxx and spotted this lookalike.

It was $24.99. It too is raffia with embroidered coral. Great for evenings when I don't need a big bag. I love it. There are no links because they are not available online but I wanted to share my fun find.

And a mini CCC update - I am making a bit of progress on the bathroom in mini CCC. It has a copper bathtub, a vintage chinoiserie needlepoint rug, and now a large chinoiserie panel that cost me absolutely nothing.

I took a photo of a chinoserie puzzle box I have, cropped it, printed it out, backed it with recycled cardboard, and voila! I am waiting on a miniature Chinese garden stool that is en route from Thailand. This room will not have a toilet or sink - this is a bathing room - very to the manor born European.

Mini CCC

I am waiting on a couple of deliveries for mini CCC - one order with ginger jars and garden stools is coming from Thailand and will take a while. In the meantime I am going to focus a bit on my upcoming Kentucky Derby party. There will be several prizes for best hats. I am also making a Derby hat for myself. I will post on that when I get to it. It will include Secretariat and mini equestrian pieces and Churchill Downs. I will wear it to start the party and then switch to one of my couture hats for the rest of the evening.

BTW I am delighted with my new Canon PIXMA printer - color printing is indistinguishable from the original - hugely better for color than my previous HP which I recycled. Color photos on photo paper come out great! I got the Canon PIXMA TS6520. It retails for $140. Staples sell it for $79.99 and I got an extra $15 off by signing up for emails and they delivered it to my front door with free delivery. It is a steal and highly recommended by many experts. It is compact, quiet, wireless, and the color printing is outstanding. A perfect home printer. I recycled my old printer and ink cartridges at Staples and even got rewards points for doing it.

Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. I'm anxious to see your plans for your Kentucky Derby party. housesandparties.com is a great inspirational source for fun and irreverent party paraphernalia, however it's very expensive.
