Distractions

Love Story: John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Carolyn Bessette

I kicked back last night and watched the Olympics - Women's Figure Skating and also the fourth episode of the new limited series Love Story: John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. Have you been watching it?

The relationship between John F. Kennedy Jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly) and Carolyn Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon) is at the center of Ryan Murphy's Love Story anthology limited series. It launched last Thursday with the first three episodes and streams on FX and Hulu. New episodes air every Thursday at 9 PM.

I started out with mixed feelings about it because it initially focused a lot on Jackie Kennedy played by Naomi Watts. I found her portrayal of Jackie and bad wig distractingly annoying. But Jackie has now died in the series and I am really enjoying it. It has great music and fashion and scenes of NYC in the 1990s. The 1990s in the United States is often viewed as a decade marked by cultural stability, economic prosperity, and relative international peace, following the end of the Cold War. The 90s were a simpler era, free from digital burnout, economic anxiety, and constant connectivity. Easy to have nostalgia for that calm and prosperous period in American history.

At any rate, I really recommend it. I have also been starting to decorate my new dollhouse, another very fun distraction from reality. I am in the early stages since I just got it, but I will try to post pics soon.

Have a wonderful weekend. It is gorgeous here, around 80 degrees this weekend - the reason people live here in Florida.
