TY Beth! Ran out and found the Grouse, then went on eBay and purchased the Turkey and Chicken!! Q? I’m keeping these forever - do you cut off all the tags? My mother for some reason cut off the tags on her Hermes Scarves!! The Steif button tag is still attached to my very old and loved bear- I’ve also, eg, seen sticky labels (I usually remove those) on Waterford crystal when the piece already is etched with the manufacturer… Seems silly - I’m confused what is the rule of thumb with these tags/labels - on or off? Best to you!!
ReplyDeleteNever ever cut off the fabric tags from anything. It destroys the value. The Hermes story makes me sick. And never ever ever remove Steif buttons. Sticky labels are different - I leave them on if they are hidden like on the base of porcelain and such. But I can't use crystal with labels on personally although it does help with resale. I think it's tacky and they get ruined washing the crystal anyway. I had an ex-boyfriend who cut the embroidered polo logo off all his polo shirts and ruined them all. I love those Jon Derian pieces you got.
