Coastal Rattan Vase

Coastal Rattan Vase

This darling wicker vase has Juliska vibes at a fraction of the price. It is real wicker, so here are some great ideas on how to use it.

It can of course be used empty as a decorative piece or with faux flowers or foliage. Or use it with dried flowers like hydrangeas or dried palm fronds.

If you'd like to use it as a vase for fresh flowers, a glass test tube tucked inside would work well with a thin neck like this has. With wider necked wicker vases, I use small glass vases from Dollar Tree.

This would be pretty in a pair on a mantel or a group of three all filled with fresh flowers as a table centerpiece. It would be darling in the bedroom on a bedside table too.

Here in South Florida, I would use it with small palm fronds - free and so long lasting. For low water drinkers like cut palm fronds, one could wrap the palm frond stems in wet paper towels inside a plastic zip-loc bag and then rubber band the neck of the bag before inserting it into the vase.

The season finale of Castle Impossible is tonight and it has been a huge hit and has already been renewed for a second season. I guess I'm not the only one who cannot bear another house with shiplap.

  1. Shiplap has its place - i.e. farmhouse, rustic etc. Its when peeps who have no idea what style their home is try to use it cause it's "popular" is when this goes terribly wrong.

    1. It is ridiculously overused by the designers on HGTV. Every house does not need exposed shiplap and a letters that spell "FAMILY" or "HOME."
