In her famous book Entertaining is Fun, Dorthy Draper recommends switching out your white light bulbs with pink light bulbs when guests come over. Pink is incredibly flattering to everyone, reducing the look of wrinkles and giving you a healthy rosy glow. So much cheaper and easier than plastic surgery or painting the room pink.
I have used pink light bulbs for decades in every lamp in my home and not just for when guests come over. Every day of the year! A little-known fact is that specialty bulbs are excluded from the prohibition on incandescent light bulbs. And pink bulbs are specialty bulbs. Don't try finding them locally - you are likely wasting your time. Order them here - easier and cheaper. You will be shocked with the difference they make - everything looks prettier - not just people. The room will look much prettier too. My own version of seeing the world through rose colored glasses. If you are wondering, they use to come in 3 ways 50/100/150 and they are no longer made by anyone. Sadly. But the 60 watts work for me. BTW, this is the softest pink imaginable - like the inside of a conch shell. It does not read as pink - it just creates a lovely warm glow.

I have tons more tips and I will share more with you in future posts. But this is the best $14.00 you will ever spend. Trust me on this one. I have not bought a non pink light bulb for a lamp in thirty years.
Speaking of pink, these Rothy's arrive today - this is a great Florida pink.
