On Life and Death

I am generally very private on my blog, but I'd like to share something with you. I apologize for not responding to your emails, not dealing with the Feedburner subscription problem, and my lack of usual posts like Fabulous Friday Finds. For the past month I have been living at the home of, and caring for my closest friend, who died at home in my arms on Thursday morning. Seeing someone you adore die from cancer is something I hope few of you have had to experience. I am back at home now, trying to remember how to find pleasure in the normal things of life again. I will in time, but I needed to let you know what has happened.

  11. So very sad and yet the love comes shining through. Wisdom and grace are born from sorrow. The are life's gifts that have to be earned. You have earned them.

  12. So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I am sure you were a great comfort for her and she knew how much you adored her. Time helps but the loss never leaves entirely and I think that ,in a way that, is a good thing, makes us take greater pleasure in the people and things in our lives that we love. I hooe you can find some peace in your heart soon.

  21. Dear Beth, I send to you a big virtual Hug. What a difficult but privileged time being there to ease a dear friend's end journey. It must have been such a comfort for her to be so supported and loved. After such an intense period it must be very hard to adjust to the normality of daily life but we honor those who have gone before us by enjoying life to the fullest and giving back to the world the best that is within us.
Thank you for that beautiful quote and for trusting your heart and pain to us. I hope our replies help to ease some of your grief. Love and Hugs.
