Tartan and Chinoiserie

I hope you are following along with my month long series on decorating your home for the holidays with Chinoiserie Chic style. This is Day Four. If you have missed any, here they are -

Tartan is so delicious in a home, especially in the winter, so cozy and classic. Alexandria, Virginia, where I live, has a strong Scottish heritage and is Scottish mad this time of year with our famous Scottish Walk weekend just around the corner.

What you might not have thought about is the amazing combination of tartan and Chinoiserie for the holidays and beyond. I especially love blue and white Chinese porcelain and Greek key with tartan. Here is inspiration and I also have Pinterest boards on Tartan and Chinoiserie and Tartan.

  2. Beth,
This was a visually exciting post. I did a lot of tartan for Thanksgiving. I really like the mix but was fearful of using it. Great photos.
