House Tour - My Dressing Room

Today is my birthday and we are going to take a little tour of my inner sanctum - my dressing room. Several years back, I converted an extra bedroom into my dressing room. Using Elfa shelving from The Container Store, now my shoes, handbags, and hats each have their own wall. The walls were painted to match a Thomas Pink shopping bag. The dresser houses my jewelry and was my daughter's dresser in her nursery. The striped silk taffeta curtains are from Restoration Hardware and stay closed at all times. The chairs are antiques I bought at auction and had covered in leopard velvet and topped them with feather pillows from Anthropologie.

  1. I need to do this sometime, I forget about my shoes and bags because I can't see them. What do you do about dust? Do you feather over everything once a week? I don't know if I'd do that, I'm so lazy.

  5. Hi Beth,
You have a great space to fill all your wonderful things!! Everything is beautiful, but I especially love your gold bamboo candle holders on the floor next to your shoe rack! I've been looking for them for so long and found them at Macy's. They had been on the sales floor for a very long time, but unfortunately, they would only discount them to $325 each...which is way beyond my budget.
Could you let me know where you got them? I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks Beth, and keep up the great chinoiserie!!

  7. Happy (belated) birthday! You have given us the bday gift by sharing your gorgeous home tour! What a great dressing room. Is the leopard velvet on your antique chair seats a brand I could still find today? (p.s. I have pillows in the same fabric of your wristlet bag on the far left bottom shelf :)
