I always send them to the dry cleaner which greatly extends their longevity and also produces that wonderful, hotel-like crispness. Horchow routinely has sales and offers monogramming. Many brides who set up housekeeping back in the 60's and 70's received expensive linen bedding as a shower present from grandmothers and beloved aunties. But often as not, they never used it preferring more modern poly cotton (yuck) in groovy bright colors and florals. Fast forward 50 years and these beautiful linens are dragged out of the attic still in the original packaging and offered along with the rest of the household goods in an estate sale. I've bought scores of never used, pure linen pillowcases for $1 each. Dozens of beautiful sheet sets for $5. As long as they've been stored out of the light, the linen will not deteriorate. Sunlight and water are fabrics worst enemies. Bghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14998954951618129775noreply@blogger.com
