My thoughts- lacquer the vanity you have the same color as the wainscoting. Replace the mirror with chinoiserie style with a wide bamboo frame. Please reconsider the vessel sink. I also liked them the first time i saw them. I know that everyone who "lives" on the internet has a passionate cleaning person, their house never settles, and their grout never cracks. But, really who gets stuck cleaning behind the vessel sink? I do. And when the grout needs replacing the tile person says, "Oh gee this all has to come out!" Of course I googled vessel sinks and one of the first to pop up looked like hand painted blue and white Chinese export porcelain and my heart weakened. I like sconces on the side of the mirror better than above if it can be arranged. Better lighting for the face. Having said that this is a guest bath that will not be used daily, I would guess. Another consideration is whether you like the lights facing up or down should you put it on top of the mirror. Much to read on this subject. Placing them up is less blinding, however placing them downward allows more light on the face and this is a bathroom! It appears that the louvered shutter will open towards the mirror. Another consideration, although these are rarely opened other than for cleaning!

Sheet mirrors are the simplest for builders to install; a beautiful chinoiserie style mirror would be a good replacement or a moulding surrounded mirror. Wandering if the vanity will be totally replaced or painted in the soon-to-be determined orange lacquer? Countertop remnants are the way to go as they are quite reasonably priced. I did this in my guest baths. Lots to select from.

I agree that it is difficult to pass a judgement on the paint selection of an orange as the resolution on each computer varies greatly. You have quite a few favorable options to choose from!

Cute little shell pulls on the cabinet; will they be staying?

Also, I saw a beautiful faux palm in an advert from Serena & Lilly; it was a nice addition to the tropical feel, for sure.

teaorwinehttp://teaorwine.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2395859504434574133.post-54921694369781952532020-06-26T11:58:53.147-04:002020-06-26T11:58:53.147-04:00HBD - Great ideas as always. You'll know. About the vanity, mirror and lights. Consider removing the sheet mirror and replacing with a fanciful CC-style one. Then you would have room to put sconces on either side. Or, remove the current sheet mirror and install one that comes flush with the top of the window moulding. In this case, you could install sconces and another mirror on top of the mirror AND install the faucet fixture on the wall/mirror. It would look cleaner IMHO to take the mirror to the top of the vanity stone vs to the top of a small stone backsplash. Hate those gaps!! between backspash/walls. Why have two? Lights, plumbing and mirror hanging position all have to be done with precision and coordination and just about killed me, the electrician and the plumber! I did the later in my powder room and I love the look and the simplicity of cleaning up. Regarding vessel sinks, I have two and I looked for sinks with "double walls" not "lips" on edge. There is more surface contact between the vessel and the vanity, making a more stable install. If you don't install the faucet in the wall, make sure to choose a faucet that goes into the center of the bowl (or as close as you can). We stayed at a hotel in France last year. A beautiful bath, but the vessel sink was too far from the standing faucet and it was a constant mess!!!! But it did look pretty...until you actually used it. LOVE the idea of orange laquered wainscotting, I assume the vanity cabinet will be painted too?
The biggest challenge in picking the right orange is that it is in harmony with the adjacent bathroom tile and the only way to know for sure is to slap those samples down and take a long look.

The wallpaper is easier to work with.
