Blue and White Chinoiserie

Blue and White Ginger Jar Hooked Wool Pillow

I hope everyone had a great weekend. My wine dinner I hosted on Friday was lots of fun. And I enjoyed watching the Olympics and the Super Bowl last night - Lady Gaga was a nice surprise. And I really enjoyed figure skater Ilia Malinin who is from Fairfax, Virginia. I lived in Belle Haven for twenty years which is in Fairfax County.

I squeezed in ordering the Chelsea Dollhouse and even found a gorgeous chinoiserie dining table for the dollhouse. I decided to go with the more formal dollhouse and fill it with lots of chinoiserie finds. This will be lots of fun.

The dining table is black and hand painted with chinoiserie by one of my favorite miniatures companies JiaYi. (No link because it is vintage from an online antiques dealer).

I decided on the rooms I will be creating - a living room, dining room, kitchen, butler's pantry, master bedroom, and master bath. There is also a large attic that I am still deciding on how to use. I have never seen a butler's pantry in a dollhouse. I will wallpaper it in a chinoiserie wallpaper and fill it with blue and white china and Chinese porcelain.

Speaking of blue and white chinoiserie, I am in love with these wool hooked pillows at top and below.

These would be great on a sofa or a side chair or a bed. So fun. See more from the collection here.

  1. Beth, I met your match of the chinoiserie north and excited to share. It's an estate sale in Pittsburgh! Info and Pics @ pghestatesales.com via Sydney B. Moore. You need to see the many doll houses & furniture available...photos 77,159,169,247 & 250. All photos are a must see! I'm planning my strategy & would be happy to work with you if something catches your fancy for your new doll house : ) Cheers Mary

    1. You are so sweet but the logistics are not very practical with a cash and carry like that. I looked at all the photos and it is surprising that a quality estate like that is not having an online and in person auction. Good luck!
