Chic Valentine's Day Decor

Did you know that decorating for Valentine's Day has become a thing? Holiday decor is not just about Christmas anymore. First, Halloween decorating became a big trend and I was completely on board because I love Halloween. I read that decorating for Valentine's Day has become popular because the house can look a bit dreary after putting the Christmas tree and decorations away. I was in HomeGoods and they were loaded with Valentine's Day decor and it was flying off the shelves.

 I had always limited Valentine's Day decorating to red roses. I love red roses in blue and white Chinese porcelain. But since I will be hosting a Valentine's wine tasting and pairing, I have been exploring chic and elegant Valentine's Day decor.

My centerpiece will be a blue and white ginger jar or vase with red roses. Do you want to learn a trick for transporting floral arrangements without the weight or mess of water? (My wine events are at our clubhouse). I simply wrap the bottom portion of the stems in wet paper towels and place them in a gallon zipper plastic bag closing the opening on both sides until it reaches the stems and then I place it in my vase. No worrying about water spilling in my car or the extra weight of water and it keeps the arrangement perfect for hours. I just remove the paper towels and plastic bag when I get home and add water to the vase. A cheaper and easy version of floral foam with items I always have at home anyway.
