Setting the Chinoiserie Christmas Table

Caspari

I used to avoid using red at CCC when decorating for the holidays, thinking that it did not work well with my tropical palette of blue, white, green, and pink. Over time, I have decided that red is actually wonderful with these colors, but I don't let it dominate.

Here is an example - the palette is primarily pink and blue with Christmassy touches of red -

The Caspari table at top is a perfect example - lots of blue and white Chinese porcelain and greenery. Red is used in the pomegranates, napkins, and candles. Real pomegranates work well as place card holders - just cut a small slit into the stem to hold the name card.

Or use these beautiful glass pomegranate ornaments and use a gift tag tied to the ornament top for the names -

These topiary place card holders are another wonderful choice -

Blue and white ginger jars filled with red roses make great centerpieces. Small rosemary plants shaped as Christmas trees are readily available this time of year - put them in blue and white cachepots.

  1. Both R Lauren & C Roehm have used masses of red with their blue and white porcelain and it looks magnificent. Love the look.
