Setting the Tropical Chinoiserie Table

Caroline Gidiere

I have been seeing these raffia placemats of late, and I like the way they are used here with bamboo flatware, leaf plates, Amanda Lindroth linens, and pink and green. I think I will research the placemats today and report back. These are Tory Burch and quite $$$.

I have also sourced these wonderful seashell place card holders and yes, he is local and very nice. I am putting an order together. I like the ones with the sterling silver slits. I will include this in the planned raffia placemat post if anyone is interested. I will be all ready for my pretend dinner parties. Sad.

  3. I do so love those place mats and will be most interested to know about the place card holders. Surely there is a reasonable source somewhere for those place mats. That look is very fresh! Good luck!

  6. Check out Oriental Traders...they have similar placemats...not as nice as Kate Spade...I would buy 2 sets of 4 and sew then together for a total of 10 dollars. If you want them darker put them in tea to add color,

    1. I have seen them in person. OK for a party but pretty cheesy.

  7. So pretty! If you like the Indian block tablecloth, check out Pomegranate Linens. They have the most amazing attic sales- great time to stock up on kurtas, caftans, and aprons too.

    1. I am not really a fan of the Indian block linens like Amanda Lindroth's. Pomegranate Linens does have some interesting things - I checked out their website. Thanks.

    1. Great price, but I like the more textural look of the Tory Burch.
