Easy Chinoiserie Christmas Decorating

Danielle Rollins

I am keeping it simple and elegant this year with my Christmas decorating. Here is a chic and easy idea - pop a poinsettia into a basket to top a blue and white Chinese garden stool. This would look great with any color poinsettia - I've seen lovely white ones and pink ones here too if red is not your thing.

I even have a couple of baskets with chalkboard labels like this. I really love the combination of wicker and chinoiserie - it is such a classic and works anywhere. (Who else noticed that the basket is not centered? LOL)

  2. Kidding, right? OCD here has also noticed the stool's pattern/studding isn't centered, the stool itself isn't centered, the angles of the chair arms aren't aligned, the trellis behind is a mashup of poorly presented disparate patterns, the arc of the plant foliage isn't properly adjusted, the pix hanging on the trellis bear [to me] no relation to one another or to the action below. MY EYEEEEES!

  4. Hi Beth,
Just purchased some Chinoiserie gift wrap on sale at Society 6 today. Hope the quality matches the wonderful designs. Have you seen it? Great year-round and perfect with a red Christmas bow.

  6. Wise to keep it simple since you rectly moved. We are also, just the front porch for neighbors and delivery folk and a few natural additions inside. No one but our children and grans have been inside since March. We are visiting our children in their homes for the first time on a Christmas morning and they have decorated all out for us. Hubby asked for his bday gift this month to not have to get all the Christmas decoration boxes down and I'm feeling the same since dealing with many medical appointments this season. I'd rather spend my spare time gardening! Pamela
