Lacquered Magnolia Wreaths

Coral Sands Lacquer Wreath - The Magnolia Company

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend in spite of these extraordinary times we are living in/through. I spent most of the weekend in the garden and it was so delightful. I cleaned out and tidied up beds and put down 30 bags of mulch so far. This Florida lifestyle is making me very fit and very blond. LOL

I am very picky with mulch. My favorite is the black mulch. I just love the way it defines the beds and the way plants just pop against it. It is funny how opinionated gardeners are with mulch choices, but it really does make a big difference IMHO.

I found these stunning lacquered magnolia wreaths. They come in several sizes and colors and I think they are just amazing. The lacquer even gives them a chinoiserie vibe. The red reminds me of red lacquered pieces, the pale green is like celadon, and the blue like blue and white Chinese porcelain. Unfortunately, they are pretty pricey and I wonder how they would do outside in the heat even though my front entrance is protected. Check out these colors. They are available in other colors as well. BTW they are fresh cut from the farm and barn dried. And guess where they are located - Florida!

Maybe I will end up getting one for inside they are so beautiful. Do you have a favorite?

  1. They are gorgeous!!! I like the red and blue. They could be used year round. I assume it would be difficult to attach a bow to me that would add a nice touch. I know you have got to be sore laying down 30 bags of mulch. Admire you for taking that on by yourself.

    1. No, not sore in the least - I feel fabulous. I think a bow would detract from the look of the wreath personally.

    1. The first picture has a caption with the name of the company and a link that takes you right to the wreaths.

  3. Very lovely, but I must confess I love the original (real or faux) magnolia leaves because of the contrast of top and underside color.

These are fun and my faves are green and red. So many ways to dress them up and change them from year to year.

    2. I used magnolia for years in Alexandria, but it would not be a great look here. These would be great here indoors or out.

  4. I’m still going back to your post on 11.11.20 the Amanda Lindroth wreaths are still my favorite.. Did some research and they look like Palmetto leaves to me.. try this link. https://www.palmdistributors.com/en/palmetto-fan They don’t sell wreathes but you can probably make one pretty easily.

  5. You are ever so right about black mulch. It adds a crispness (IMHO) to beds and lets the plants pop. The red mulch doesn't look natural at all and the brown is just boring.

    1. There is so much ugly mulch around - don't even get me started with the dyed rubber and the red chunks.

  6. Gorgeous. And their website says "outdoor" magnolia wreaths and "if used outdoors they can be displayed in direct sunlight" and "will last indefinitely" Sounds like they would be amazing in your situation and they are made in FL!!

  7. Or you could make or buy a magnolia wreath and spray it with Krylon paint.
