Retail Therapy & Chilling

J. Crew Limited Edition Silk Tie Dyed Dress

Yesterday I decided to take the day off and let the day take me wherever I pleased. So I ----------

1. Cleaned my house

2. Worked in the garden

3. Watched my sprinkler system go through all 6 zones. This is obscure, I know, but I have been meaning to watch the sprinkler system go through all its zones to see if any need adjusting. I was suspicious there were a few sprinkler heads in need of adjustment because a few plants do not look happy. So I manually turned the system on and watched it and sure enough the unhappy plants have sprinklers not functioning properly. I called my guy and he is coming over next week. You should have seen me running to avoid the sprinklers as they came on. Hysterical.

4. I hired the same lawn, shrub, and tree care company as I had been using in the Sarasota house but the new technician here is awful. So I called and read them the riot act and they put my excellent previous Sarasota guy on this property to keep me as a customer. The squeaky wheel....

5. I decided to do some retail shopping online. I ordered this beautiful dress above which immediately sold out. Another dress for my imaginary dinner parties. LOL

6. I ordered this caftan from Anthropologie. I love Rujuta Sheth caftans and literally live in them down here. They are chic and incredibly comfortable.

7. I also ordered this Ikat Off the Shoulder Dress from Maisonette that I love. Lightweight maxi dresses are my thing in Florida. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I am taking the entire weekend off and relaxing. What do all you peeps have on tap?

  3. Beautiful dresses! Love that look. I have an appt with a cabinet maker this morning to discuss a mini "facelift" for my kitchen! Thinking about new doors/hardware and adding some thicker molding at the top. Then, some fresh paint.

  4. I too, get stuff ALL the time for my imaginary something or other. Clothes and shoes especially. In fact, some of them still have tags since the right situation hasn’t occured yet. Gives me pleasure to know I have just the right thing.

My natural inclination is to do squat this weekend but I’ll try to do one productive thing like take a few bags to Goidwill that have been waiting by the door. And maybe, just maybe, organize my bookcases better. Everywhere I look reminds me of something I need to do so I also just might go out for a long walk in the park. The weather is divine, and I need it. I’d kill fo a garden though...work in the garden is never a chore.

    1. I completely agree. Unfortunately with the pandemic, most things now are imaginary. Oh well. I am so happy to have a beautiful garden and weather to occupy my time.

  6. So glad you’re taking some much needed time for yourself and there’s nothing better than finding some fabulous “can’t live without” treasures to snap up while practicing retail therapy. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

  8. My favorite new dress would be the top selection, pink silk tie-dyed sheath. A bit retro, very feminine, very tropical and Floridian and I love the shade of pink.

Costco Pho noodles? Would this be something like ramen noodles? Love Costco!

    1. Pho is a popular Vietnamese street food and is broth with rice noodles and herbs, with beef or chicken but this one is meatless. It makes a great quick lunch.
