Crunch Time

Wicker Suitcase - Society Social

I made 6 round trips to Venice yesterday and I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel - I am so motivated I am moving thousands of items myself (with no help from you know who) and unpacking and putting away every single thing as I bring it over. The good news - I do not have one box to unpack. But I am exhausted.

I was so tired I took a nap on the limestone floor - hard but cool, looking out onto the preserves with dozens of birds chirping away. Bliss.

Here is my candle cabinet - I love opening the doors just to smell - intoxicating. I have more candles scattered around the house - I am always burning a candle. I also love diffusers.

Here is a sneak peek at the tandoori orange - in high gloss BM.

Benjamin Moore Tandoori

Recall the wallpaper - Clarence House Chinoiserie Baroque.

And here is a shot of the stone - the countertop people are Seashore Granite in Sarasota (near UTC). They are so great to work with.

Driving back from my last trip yesterday, as I left the house there was the most beautiful rainbow. The skies here are stunning.

The painters finish today but countertops tomorrow and movers Wednesday, so no house to myself yet. But soon.

I am waiting on delivery of my two new sofas and my dining table - hope they arrive soon. I delayed ordering because I didn't want them until after the painters and movers, but now I want them! LOL

  2. The tandoori orange paint is glorious! As is the granite. I can't wait to see the finished result!
You have made so much progress in such a short time. You must be so excited and running on pure adrenaline. Remember to take good care of yourself!

  3. Things look great. Please know if you have dogs that defusers are very toxic to them. You can google it but my rescue groups have a huge warning about defusers and scented candles. Can actually cause death. Love the daily updates.

    1. Martha, can you please tell us more? I have 3 rescue dogs and that is scary! Is the danger if they drink the diffuser liquid or eat the sticks? Thanks for the warning!

  4. OMG, SIMPLY STUNNING--the tandoori orange, wallpaper & counter!!!! Love, love, love!

I was going to ask, where you find the energy and stamina to accomplish all that you do every day but then remembered that this kind of exciting work fuels itself on adrenaline.

And a closet for candles--that beats all!

  6. Oh my goodness....I had a busy weekend and just now caught up on your last 3 posts. I am very frightened for you and am praying HARD that you and your precious pups escape unscathed. Also want to reiterate the suggestions about cameras and security system at your new place. These guys never go quietly. Beth, you are too dear and special to so many of us....the dwindling down of days till you are fully ensconced in Venice is nerve wracking. I so want you to be accompanied by someone with each visit to your old home you shared with GG. Trust your instincts my friend.....and feel the love from all of us!! That Tandoori orange paint is so wonderful; the whole process has been beautiful to behold there in Venice. Hugs!

  7. Your organizational skills are inspiring, in fact it's YOU who have ended up giving US moral support with your optimistic spirit and ability to see rainbows and metaphors amidst personal chaos. I'm glad nameless isn't helping, I hope nameless never ever comes to your new refuge. Echoing "Design Doctor" ahead of me in line here [as if I need to reiterate, which I don't because "you've got this"], DO remember to take good care as you blast through states of exhaustion to the other side - exhaustion loves to host germs. Your fan in North Florida...

  9. Personally, I think think we all should adopt "Tandoori" and a synonym for beautiful and joyful. The marble for that bathroom is stunning. Can't wait to see the blue and white vessel on it. Holy Cowabunga: six trips in one day!!!and putting away before you started another trip back to reload. The Energizer Bunny has met his match. Two days to Sushi.

    2. Thanks to you both. The two Chinoiserie vessels go in the master - it is getting a sleek white rectangular sink.
