Scenes from Sarasota

One of my palm trees

It is such a gorgeous day here in Florida and I have the morning all to myself while golf guy is out - you guessed it - golfing. So has your guy stopped shaving because of quarantining? Mine has and he looks like a bad version of Ernest Hemingway.

I feel like taking a few photos of my home to share with you. Hope you enjoy.

  1. My you have been busy! It's all lovely.Nice to see you have bars where you need them! We have such antiquated liquor laws in Kansas we can't get wine delivered locally, so we have joined two wine clubs (prioities). We don't have room for a "cellar" of wine, but we're spying a closet that may have to take one for the team. Lockdown has eased and the crazies are out without masks or social distancing. We're staying far, far away. My husband had his first Zoom conference with a group of retirees he usually sees once a month. He grumbled that he'd had to shave and put on a clean shirt just for that. This is the former conservative, but impeccably dressed, cautious former lawyer bitchin' about that damned technology. Too funny.

    1. Thank you. I love the wet bar. It has a wine fridge that holds several cases so I keep Champagne and whites in there. The walk in pantry has a wine rack that holds 6 cases. Liquor stores are considered essential here, but we really stocked up when this all started. Don't talk about people without masks and social distancing. I live in Florida - I'll see you and raise you. At least Costco now requires face masks thankfully.

  3. Golf guys are fanatics! I know because I have lived with them. Perhaps you should take up golf, Beth. Just be sure to wear your sunscreen and a hat with a broad brim. Love the snail TP holder. Have you or any of your readers seen the short video, "The Great Realization"? Very sweet. I would send you a link, but my tech skills are not good. Happy decorating.

  9. Adorable. My daughter, Harper, has finished up high school and has her drive-thru ceremony next weekend,is often found in this position. My Cavalier, Wallis Simpson, sadly just passed away. She would've loved this situation of shelter in. Lots of attention!

    1. I am so sorry. I had two Cavaliers - Mandy and Julia - they were the best dogs in the world. Now I have two Japanese Chins and they are my loves. I cannot imagine life without them.
