Blue and White

Cathy Kinkaid
Another stunning room by Dallas designer Cathy Kinkaid - a classic blue and white bedroom. Chinoiserie elements include the double gourd Chinese lamp and the blue and white Chinese porcelain plates and vases on the wall. The yellow neck rolls add great pops of color. I especially love the black and gold brackets that hold the Chinese vases.

Pink and Green Chinoiserie

Andrew Gn
Pink and green can be a preppy and modern take on Chinoiserie or very old school and luxe as in this Paris apartment of Andrew Gn. I love the way blue and white Chinese porcelain pops against the soft pink and green.

Neutral Chinoiserie

William Hodgins Interiors - Architectural Digest
Chinoiserie need not be about color. Here is a wonderful example of the serene side of Chinoiserie with a palette of black, gray, and cream. The large black ginger jar under the Chinoiserie cabinet is wonderful.

Yellow and Chinoiserie

Krista Ewart - House Beautiful
Yellow is making a big reappearance this year, and a kitchen or breakfast room is a natural for such a cheery color. The wallpaper here is Clarence House The Vase, an iconic wallpaper that is very hot right now. A Palm Beach lantern and Chinese Chippendale chairs are perfect choices. The black painted floor makes for a great contrast. The built in banquette adds storage space.

The Blue and White Chinoiserie Bedroom

Architectural Digest
So many good things going on in this blue and white bedroom. Chinoiserie elements include a Chinese Chippendale chair, a faux bamboo desk, blue and white Chinoiserie fabric on the duvet, a Chinoiserie trumeau mirror, and blue and white Chinese porcelain plates. The green canopy bed and soft blue walls add to the garden vibe. Interesting choice of a chair at the end of the bed instead of a bench.

The Blue and White Chinoiserie Laundry Room

Kevin Walsh
Since I turned my laundry room into a blue and white Chinoiserie retreat for the One Room Challenge a year and a half ago, I have enjoyed discovering more great laundry rooms that have been elevated from utilitarian to extraordinary.  In addition to doing laundry, a beautifully done laundry room can be the perfect space for a home office, wrapping gifts, crafts, flower arranging, homework, the possibilities are limitless. Recently I toyed with the idea of adding an antique Chinoiserie daybed I saw at auction, but decided that might be too weird.

Here is a fantastic laundry room that includes many of the same features I used in my own laundry room.

*A dramatic wallpaper in blue and white, here the iconic Clarence House The Vase. Since a laundry room is probably not a room wants to use artwork on the walls, a great wallpaper is the perfect solution. I personally think that no color scheme is as fresh and clean and crisp looking as blue and white in a laundry room.

*White cabinetry and white washer and dryer - again, I think white is such a clean look and I am not personally a big fan of washers and dryers in colors.

*A classic black and white tile floor.

*Upscale lighting and accessories.

*Seating.

*A Steele commercial laundry hamper.

Green and Chinoiserie

Veranda - May June 2015
I am completely flipping out over this Dallas apartment by Cathy Kinkaid. Love the 19th century Chinoiserie panels, the green lacquered walls, the faux bamboo pagoda chandeliers, and of course, the collection of blue and white Chinese porcelain. The black and white floors on the diagonal are such a classic. I love too the use of stripes - I invariably use stripes in a room with Chinoiserie.

Stripes and Chinoiserie are always such a great mix. This man's bedroom combines a Chinese Chippendale headboard and pinstripe wallpaper for a very classic look.

Blue and White

Tory Burch
A ginger jar sans lid is the perfect container for flowers for summer al fresco entertaining. Faux bamboo flatware is also a great choice for the casual summer table.

Coastal Chinoiserie

Amanda Lindroth
A lovely composition using Quadrille Lyford Pagoda wallpaper and a pair of Chinese Chippendale chairs with a striped fabric. Stripes are aways a great choice paired with a Chinoiserie print.

Sports Equipment & Chinoiserie

Domino
I love this entryway from Domino with a pair of blue and white Chinese vases filled with racquets. I have something similar in my own home using a blue and white Chinese umbrella stand filled with a vintage tennis racquet, badminton racquet, and polo mallets.
