Scale - Using Large Pattern Chinoiserie Fabrics

Home Accents Fabric Cachepot

Our topic today is the wonderful pairing of a chair with a grand Chinoiserie fabric. As you can see here, an oversized Chinoiserie fabric is a magical combination with any chair - large, small, new, vintage, antique, and any style as well. I especially adore a Bergere chair done up in Chinoiserie.

And a reminder that tomorrow at 9 AM ET is the third edition of my new feature Chinoiserie Chic's Fabulous Friday Finds.

  2. My love of chinoiserie goes back to chilhood. Had the privilege of a stay at the grand Mandarin hotel in Hong Kong. The fabrications, furnishings and accoutrements were amazing. Simplicity with a hefty dose of old school glamour. The London line of Rolls Royced hugging the portico did not detract one bit front the grandeur of the building and it's incredible interior flourishes. Accoutrements overflowing understated luxury.

  3. I bookmarked this post. As I've considered a new round of redecorating after 20 years, these images are encouraging me to go BIG and go BOLD, even if it's just one accent chair.
