A Chinoiserie Fourth of July

Set your Fourth of July table with red, white, and blue, but with Chinoiserie flair. This wonderful table setting from Joe Nye's book Flair combines Blue Canton dinner plates, red and blue glassware, red napkins, red dahlias, a red lantern, and a red and white Chinoiserie toile tablecloth. With temperatures near 100 today here in DC, we will be eating inside in the dining room, so I will be assembling all my red, white, and blue Chinoiserie as well. And no, my poor little dog did not enjoy last night's fireworks from the country club across the street. She was convinced we were under attack. Happy Fourth of July everyone.

  3. I swear, Connor thought it was a re-enactment of the 25-hour of the bombing of Baltimore from 1814. Luckily I had puppy valium and took advantage of slipping it into his food.
