Scalamandre Ming Circus and Patience

Yesterday I won a large decorator's sample of one of my favorite fabrics, Scalamandre Ming Circus in this colorway above on eBay for $20.00. I even chose this pattern as my first wallpaper in my top ten Chinoiserie wallpapers. (The example above is much smaller; this is just a swatch.) I have been hunting for it for a while and even did a post on framing it like this piece on 1stdibs shown below priced at $2,900. The 1stdibs version is a circa 1910 French wallpaper, but both are based on the same design. I plan to frame it and use it as wall art. By the way, either wallpaper or fabric work equally well for framing. Thanks to everyone for stopping by Odi et Amo yesterday for my guest post. Click here to read it if you missed it. This latest Chinoiserie find is a perfect example of one of my main points in my guest post-the importance of patience and perseverance as you hunt for your own Chinoiserie treasures. Have a great weekend.
