The Boy's Chinoiserie Bedroom

On Chinoiserie Chic we have shown you hundreds of Chinoiserie rooms covering every room of the house except for one-the boy's bedroom. Chinoiserie clearly does not leap to mind in decorating a nursery or bedroom for a boy which is, of course, a mistake, because it is a perfect choice. Today we will look at the boy's bedroom from the Southern Accents 2009 Riverhills Showhouse I featured last week. Then later this week I will show you my own versions of a Chinoiserie boy's nursery and bedroom. In the room above, Thibaut fabrics are used throughout. Leather suitcases, a tree trunk end table, antelope horn racks, framed soldier prints, bear bookends, leather books, binoculars, and trunks keep it boyish. This room demonstrates beautifully that canopy beds and a Chinoiserie fabric can be used successfully as long as you keep the color palette and accessories masculine.
