Miles Redd's Chinoiserie Vestibule

A small space in your home might just be the perfect spot for that expensive Chinoiserie paper you'd love to use, but that would cost a fortune to do an entire room. The picture above is a tiny vestibule outside Miles Redd's powder room pictured below. Take note of how he framed the de Gournay paper in black turning it into a work of art. The stunning paper really pops against the ebonized wood floors, Venetian mirror, and black bench. Notice too how the vestibule and powder room colors coordinate so that visually it becomes one space.

  1. I really, really like this idea (the framed wallpaper). I'm preparing to move (and rent) again, and I've been thinking about ways to create a "wallpapered" vestibule where once can't, well, wallpaper. I've thought about wallpapering fiberboard or something equally lightweight, framing it, and literally hanging the wall on the wall. We'll see. Anyway, this proves it could look great!

  2. SF-Many people are taking panels of de Gournay or Gracie and framing the panel and hanging it on the wall as art. You can buy short or long panels from about $400-$700. This just moves with you.

  3. g.-It's a great example of making every space in your home wonderful, even a hall, and not requiring too much paper.

  4. Hands down, my favorite sink of all time. I would prefer it with a white marble top...but the pink monogrammed towels are a must!
